When it comes to navigating the dungeons in Sengoku Rance, there are several important things to keep in mind. One crucial aspect is that clearing the final floor will prevent access to all previous floors and require starting from scratch on future runs.

On the other hand, if you enter a dungeon and clear any number of floors except for the final boss floor, you'll be able to start at level 2 when you return. This can be a useful strategy, especially since each time you complete a floor, you'll receive an item - usually an ogre bone.

However, this approach does require some extra effort, as you'll need to repeat the process of clearing floors and then leaving before returning to make progress. Additionally, if all your commanders in play run out of actions during a fight, you'll automatically lose.

Another key aspect to consider is that there's no time limit or battle rating system in place, making it easier to focus on progressing through the dungeon. Each dungeon consists of multiple levels, with each stage presenting a new fight for Rance and his allies.

In terms of leveling up, Rance will receive two extra level ups from the SM Dungeon and Satomi Empire, which can add up to a maximum of 18 level ups in routes where Kentarou joins or 16 in routes where he does not. Additionally, there are two level ups available from the ogre hunts in Shikoku (Takuga) and more opportunities for leveling up through the Road to Hades and Orochi dungeons.
